Disney Resorts & H2O+: Creating a Memorable Hospitality Packaging Experience

In the hospitality industry, packaging plays a far larger role than many consumers realize. Beyond functionality, it becomes part of the overall guest experience — reinforcing brand identity, elevating perceived value, and creating memorable touchpoints that guests associate with their stay long after checkout.

One example of this was the collaboration between Disney Resorts and H2O+, where custom packaging helped support a premium hospitality experience centered around wellness, luxury, and brand storytelling.

BIG SKY PACKAGING had the opportunity to support this initiative through the development of custom set box packaging designed specifically for the Disney Resorts and H2O+ partnership program.

At the time, H2O+ had established itself as a recognizable premium skincare and personal care brand known for clean aesthetics and water-inspired formulations. Disney Resorts sought packaging that could reflect both the elevated quality of the products and the immersive experience associated with the Disney hospitality brand.

The result was a custom-designed rigid set box program developed to enhance presentation, organization, and overall guest perception.

In hospitality environments, presentation matters. Guests often associate the smallest details — materials, finishes, structure, and opening experience — with the quality of the overall resort experience. Packaging becomes an extension of the brand itself.

For the Disney Resorts and H2O+ program, the packaging needed to accomplish several objectives simultaneously:

  • Protect and organize multiple products
  • Maintain a premium visual presentation
  • Support operational consistency
  • Create a memorable unboxing experience aligned with the Disney brand standard

BIG SKY PACKAGING worked closely with the project team to manufacture packaging that balanced aesthetics with practical execution. Structural integrity, material selection, production consistency, and presentation quality were all critical components of the development process.

One of the most important aspects of hospitality packaging is scalability. Resort programs often require large production quantities, tight delivery schedules, and consistency across multiple properties or locations. Packaging must not only look premium, but also perform reliably within demanding operational environments.

This is where thoughtful engineering and manufacturing oversight become especially important.

Luxury hospitality packaging also faces a unique challenge compared to traditional retail packaging: the experience must feel elevated without becoming overly complicated or inefficient. Guests expect simplicity, elegance, and functionality all at once.

The Disney Resorts and H2O+ collaboration demonstrated how custom packaging can help bridge those objectives.

Today, hospitality, beauty, and lifestyle brands increasingly recognize that packaging is no longer simply a secondary consideration. It has become part of the customer experience itself.

Whether in luxury retail, e-commerce, wine and spirits, or hospitality, premium packaging helps communicate quality before the product is even used.

At BIG SKY PACKAGING, many of the same principles applied within hospitality packaging programs continue to influence how we support beauty, wellness, wine, and lifestyle brands today:

  • Structural engineering
  • Premium material selection
  • Scalable production strategies
  • Quality control oversight
  • Packaging designed around the customer experience

As brands continue competing for customer attention and loyalty, physical presentation remains one of the few fully tangible interactions consumers still have with a brand.

Well-executed packaging helps transform that interaction into something memorable.

The Disney Resorts and H2O+ partnership remains a strong example of how thoughtful packaging design can help support premium brand positioning while enhancing the overall consumer experience.
